Copying IBIS-PH Graphs

Below are listed several options for copying IBIS-PH graphs into PowerPoint or other applications. To do any of the listed options, you must be viewing the desired IBIS-PH page in your browser and have the desired application active in your system at the same time.

These instructions listed are for Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or 6 running on a PC with a MS-Windows Operating System (most modern browsers and operating systems will have similar options as the ones listed below). This page does not list all options as there are many ways to accomplish this task. If one method does not work for you please try another one.

Easiest (if JPEG graphic)

  1. Using the mouse, right click on the graphic image and choose "Copy" or "Copy Image". You can also use several other mechanisms to select and copy the image like selecting the image and pressing [Ctrl][C] on the keyboard, or selecting the image then selecting the "Copy" option from the "Edit" etc.
  2. Go to the application you want to use the graphic and select the "Paste" option either by pressing the [Ctrl][V] keys on the keyboard, or choosing the Edit/Paste menu option, or right clicking the mouse and choosing "Paste" from the popup menu.

Easy (bitmap image into an MS-Office application from an SVG type graphic)

This option assumes you have the Abobe SVG plugin and that your graphic display preference is set to SVG.
  1. Using the mouse, right click on the SVG graphic image and choose "Copy SVG".
  2. Go to the MS-Office application you want to use the graphic and select the "Paste Special" option on the "Edit" menu.
  3. Choose either the "Device Independent Bitmap" or the "Bitmap" option from the dialog box that is displayed after choosing the Edit/Paste Special option and then press the [OK] button.

Another method is to simply append "?GraphicType=jepg" to the page's URL and resubmit the page. You will then be able to use the copy and paste steps as defined in the "Easiest" option.

Easy (capture the entire browser window - 2 steps) - Direct Method

  • This method is the simplest method. It uses the Print Screen button and the Paste function.
  • Use this when you want an image of the entire computer screen or active window.

Still Pretty Easy (3-4 steps) - Paint Method

  • This method uses the Print Screen button and the Paint program (or any program that allows editing or bitmap graphic images).
  • It allows you to crop the image to only the graph (or anything else you'd like to grab and insert into your application as a bitmap image).
  • This results in a bitmap image that can be saved to a file or copied and pasted into the application.

More steps, but nicer quality for resized graph - SVG Method

  • This method gives you the highest quality graph, but is more complex.
  • You must have the SVG plug-in on your machine (see Instructions for downloading the Adobe SVG Viewer)
  • This method allows you to resize the graph without making it fuzzy or blurry.
