Prior to 2015 San Juan County was part of the Southeast Local Health District. In 2015 the San Juan County Local Health District was formed. Data reported are for all years using the current boundaries.
  • The cancer data were provided by the Utah Cancer Registry, which is funded by contract HHSN2612013000171 from the National Cancer Institute's SEER Program with additional support from the Utah State Department of Health and the University ofUtah Population estimates are from the Utah Population Estimates Committee (UPEC) and the Governor's Office of Planning and Budget (GOPB) for years 1973-1999. For years 2000 and later the population estimates are provided by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) through a collaborative agreement with the U.S. Census Bureau. For years 2010 and later, the population estimates are provided by the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute, Utah state and county annual population estimates are by single year of age and sex, IBIS Version 2023
The Utah Cancer Registry is not a closed database meaning that numbers can be updated for any year. When we add new years of data to the IBIS Query System the numbers for previous years may change to reflect these updates.

Slight variations in case counts and rates may have also appear since the adoption of the International Classification of Disease for Oncology, 3rd Edition (ICD-O-3), primary site and histology codes.
