Relevant Population Characteristics

Higher rates of obesity are found among women who are:
  • older than 30 years of age
  • of lower education levels
  • of Hispanic ethnicity
  • of Pacific Islander, Black, or American Indian/Native Alaskan race
  • living below 100% of the federal poverty level
  • uninsured prior to pregnancy
