Query Builder for Utah COVID-19 Test - Percent Positivity (Test/Test Method)

Getting Started

CDC proposes three methods for calculating percent positivity. The UDOH uses the third method of number of people tested positive over the number of people tested. The analysis is restricted to PCR and Antigen tests. For a person that has a positive test, their first positive test is used. If there is no positive result for that individual, then their first negative result is used. To calculate the reported 7-day rolling average percent positivity rate, the UDOH tallies the number of people who tested positive in 7 days, divided by the total number of people tested in the same 7 day.

The total number of people who tested positive will not total the total number of cases reported in the state. This discrepancy is due to ongoing investigations and confirmatory testing.

Case and lab data are updated weekly on Thursdays using reported case data

Not all labs are reported with complete demographic and geographic data, tests with incomplete variables will be reported with "unknown". These data may be subsequently reported and updated retroactively.

All data are preliminary and subject to change.
