Health Status Outcomes
Age is one of the most important risk factors for many diseases, including the leading causes of death in Utah, heart disease and cancer. The relative youth of the Utah population is one important factor in our relative good health. In order to remove the "age effect" and allow accurate comparisons, health data are commonly age adjusted for presentation in reports such as this one.
