Nationally, nearly 1 in 4 women and 1 in 26 men reported experiencing rape or attempted rape at some time in their lives. About 1 in 9 men reported being made to penetrate someone in his lifetime.^1^
Among adult women surveyed in 2016/2017, 43.7% of American Indian/Alaska Native women, 29.0% of non-Hispanic Black women, 28.1% of non-Hispanic White women, 19.7% of Hispanic women, and 48.0% of women of multiple races experienced an attempted or a completed rape at some time in their lives.^1^
In 2021, among youth in Utah, 11.4% of Hispanic youth and 7.5% of non-Hispanic White youth experienced being physically forced to have sexual intercourse. ^2^
