Studies show that obese pregnant women are at increased risk for: * gestational diabetes * preeclampsia * eclampsia * cesarean section * macrosomia * instrumental delivery (i.e. forceps, vacuum) * fetal distress * antepartum stillbirth * early neonatal death * longer labors
